Comme ses prédécesseurs, Windows 8 dispose d’outils que l’on peut ouvrir à partir de nombreux Panneaux de configuration, depuis le menu Exécuter ou depuis l’écran d’Accueil en saisissant le nom correct de l’outil que l’on souhaite utiliser. Cela permet de gagner un temps précieux en s’évitant de passer par l’interface graphique où il faut parfois faire de nombreuses manipulations pour les lancer.
La difficulté étant de connaître le nom précis de tous les outils mis à disposition par le système.
Voici une liste de ces commandes à saisir pour les exécuter (certaines fonctionnent depuis le Menu Exécuter, d’autres sur l’écran d’Accueil de Windows 8, d’autres sur les deux
